Introducing MyBonsai
The Next Frontier of Wealth Management.
Empower clients with the same ALM framework used by pensions, endowments, and insurance companies.
Advice should not go quiet between meetings.
We believe the next frontier of wealth management is a platform built for the advisor’s relationship with a household, not only for the plan. That relationship is earned in meaningful conversations, and a conversation needs something concrete behind it. MyBonsai is the engine underneath: a household balance sheet, a funded ratio, and a plan that recalculates when inputs change.
Step 01
Model the household
Every asset and every current and future liability, in one structure.
Step 02
Fund the liabilities
One number shows how well what is owned covers what is owed.
Step 03
Keep the plan alive
Recalculated as inputs change, so every meeting starts from today.
Asset liability management
Every household has a balance sheet. Start there.
Asset liability management is the discipline pension funds and insurers use to match what they hold against what they owe. MyBonsai applies a household version and helps you act as the household’s personal CFO: you enter what it owns and what it owes, now and in the years ahead, and the platform computes a funded ratio from that data and the assumptions you set.
- 01
The household balance sheet
Assets on one side. Current and future liabilities on the other. The plan begins with that balance sheet and is read against it.
- 02
Liabilities, now and later
What a household owes now and what it will owe later are both liabilities, each weighed against the assets meant to fund it.
- 03
The funded ratio
One number: on track or off track against a threshold. It depends on the data and assumptions entered and is not a forecast or a guarantee.
- Investment assets
- Guaranteed assets
- Outside assets
- Inherited assets
- Current expenses
- Retirement expenses
- Healthcare expenses
- Aspirational expenses
Adaptive profiling
Intake that continues long after onboarding.
A household’s profile is built from what you enter: assets, current and future liabilities, and the assumptions behind the plan. When a client tells you something has changed, you enter it, the profile updates, and the plan draws on the new profile.
Built in the room
Ask, listen, enter. A client’s answer becomes part of the household profile while you are still in the room together.
You hold the pen
The profile changes only when you change it. Nothing in it moves on its own; the plan draws on what you entered.
Dynamic planning
Change an assumption. The plan recalculates.
Plans recalculate when inputs or assumptions change, not on a fixed schedule. Scenarios illustrate choices under stated assumptions: change one thing, keep everything else, and see how the funded ratio moves.
Scenarios, not forecasts
Compare two choices side by side under assumptions you state and can show the client. Each is an illustration, not a prediction.
Same inputs, same outputs
Deterministic arithmetic: the same data and assumptions produce the same outputs, so a result can be traced back to its inputs.
Designed for the meeting
Turn the screen toward the client.
Each household is presented in the same views, so a client sees a familiar layout at every review and the time goes to what changed. The screens are designed to be read across a table, with plain labels, clear type and nothing you have to talk around.
Product views recreated for illustration. Sample data, not an actual household.
Co-intelligence
The platform surfaces the risk. You choose the response.
Co-intelligence is MyBonsai’s automated, rules-based workflows: they surface identified plan risks and the strategies and partner processes that can address them. The professional decides.
The workflows are rules, set by what each strategy requires and by how partners implement it, so the same inputs surface the same risks. An identified risk arrives with its possible next steps, waiting on your judgment.
- 01
Household data
Assets, liabilities, assumptions
- 02
Identified plan risks
Surfaced by rules-based workflows
- 03
Strategies and partner processes
Documented beside each risk
- 04
The professional decides
Nothing reaches a client without you
Risks, surfaced
When the workflows identify a plan risk in the data entered, they bring it forward rather than leaving it in the numbers.
Strategies, not rankings
Beside each identified risk: the strategies that can address it and the partner process each requires, listed for your judgment, not ranked.
Nothing moves without you
Workflows surface risks; they do not act. A licensed professional reviews every output and chooses what to bring to the household.
Strategy implementation
The strategy you choose, documented and tracked.
Once you and the household settle on a way to address a risk, MyBonsai records it in the plan and tracks its implementation with the licensed professionals and partners who carry it out. Risk-transfer strategies may include annuities or insurance where a licensed professional determines they are appropriate. Where a household owns a business, a valuation is available through an integrated third-party provider.
Risk transfer, documented
Where a household and its professional choose insurance or an annuity, the decision and its rationale live in the plan, beside the risk they address.
Business valuation on the balance sheet
A family business is valued through an integrated provider and sits with the household’s other assets, so the funded ratio sees the whole picture.
Implementation, tracked over time
Implementation is documented and maintained in the plan as the plan changes, so what was decided and what was done stay in one place.
MyBonsai does not recommend, rank, sell, execute or bind; the choice of strategy rests with a licensed professional, within the scope of their license.
See the platform on a household. Bring your questions.
A demo is a walkthrough of MyBonsai on sample data, shaped by your questions: the household balance sheet, the funded ratio, a scenario and the workflows around them. Ask what you would ask of anything you might put in front of a client.
